He was educated in the Catholic School System and graduated from the Honors Class at Jesuit High School in 1953. While in high school he attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was elected Lodge Chief of the Order of the Arrow. He graduated with a B.S. in Physics from Tulane University and received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1960. He served in the United States Army Medical Corps as Command Surgeon of I Corps Group Artillery in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1963. He successfully completed an Orthopedic Residency at the Oschner Foundation Hospital in 1967. Dr. Licciardi has been in private practice of Orthopedic Surgery since 1967 with special interest in spine surgery and sports medicine. He served as team physician for Jesuit High School from 1960 through 1996. He was elected President of the Medical Staff of Southern Baptist Hospital in 1989. In 1997 he moved to New Mexico to work at Gallup Indian Medical Center (USPHS) for 5 years where he cared for the Orthopedic needs of the Navajo Nation. In 2002 Dr. Licciardi returned to New Orleans to practice with his former partners. He only does office practice. He is an automobile enthusiast and assists with the sports teams of Jesuit High School. He lives with his wife of 25 years, Simonne, in Harahan, Louisiana. He is the proud father of one son, Peter, a New Orleans firefighter. |
